Barclay House lies on the edge of Looe, an historic Cornish fishing village dating from the 12th century. Carved into the hillside overlooking the East Looe river this six acre property has breathtaking views over the water and countryside beyond, yet we are only 10 minutes walk from the town, harbour, beach and sea. Originally built around 1890 as a Victorian family villa of uncompromising architecture, this wonderful 10 bedroom house has a spacious elegance and magnificent relaxed air about it. We are captivated daily by its fabulous position and the ever changing scenery. Located on the ground floor of the house are the restaurant, lounge bar and sitting room complete with panoramic terrace overlooking the water (when the tide is in that is!) Drinks are served al fresco when possible. You may perhaps enjoy relaxing by the pool nestled in a suntrap or enjoy some peace in our gardens and woodland. Easily accessible by air, road or rail, gracious family service led by the Brooks family.

The Fieldhead is a traditional, warm and friendly country house style hotel offering a very high standard of comfort. We occupy a prime, elevated position, with unrivalled sea views from virtually every room across Looe Bay. In 2003, The Fieldhead was in the final for the Small Hotel of the Year Award. Situated in West Looe, The Fieldhead is only a fifteen minute walk along the waterside to the centre of town. In summer, a passenger ferry plys across the harbour mouth. The town beach is popular in the summer months, while the rock pools and sandy coves below the hotel provide interest all year round. Virtually all bedrooms have tremendous sea views - a perfect way to start and end the day. Every bedroom is en suite with bath and shower, and all have recently been refurbished. Superior rooms offer more space and are luxuriously equipped. Two have their own balcony and two are on the ground floor. We also happily accept dogs. The Horizons Restaurant has far reaching views across Looe Bay. The cuisine is essentially French and English with a daily changing menu offering a wide variety of fresh local produce. Our large heated swimming pool is open from mid May to the end of September. Set on the cliff above the garden, it is a veritable sun trap with more wonderful sea views. We also offer free on site parking.
