Rabbits, foxes and badgers are often spotted around the grounds at night and apart from the occasional hooting owl, all you will hear at night will be the whispering wind in the trees. Our luxurious four poster room, Captain Seccombes Bedroom (the original Mine Captain) has a spectacular view over the Tamar Valley and on a clear day, to Plymouth and Dartmoor beyond. The hotel is wonderfully situated for guests who are touring the South West or those wishing to partake of some of the exciting rural walks in and around the area. The spectacular Eden Project is just 14km away and nearby fishing lakes and championship golf courses just a short drive away. If the history of mining is to your liking, the inn is a great base from which to explore the old copper mine ruins which thrived on Caradon Hill in the 1800's. Caradon Hill with its lack of street lighting and ambient light is and ideal base for stargazing or amateur astronomy, just remember to bring your telescope or binoculars!! Our restaurant offers food cooked where possible from fresh local produce, so you can be assured of excellent wholesome quality at a value for money price. We have an excellent wine list and stock Cornish real ales on draft so there should be something which hopefully will suit everyone's palette. Please note that during the winter months (Oct-Mar) we do not open the restaurant and bar on a Monday night. Restaurant availability may be limited due to prior bookings so ring to book tables during your stay.
